So, if you’re looking to celebrate one of the many fun national food days, you’ll know where to go! Let’s take a look at why fajitas are one of the most loved dishes around.

What are fajitas?

So, you might be wondering what makes a fajita different from a taco. They’re similar enough, right? Many people are often confused because they involve meat filling with various toppings like salsa or sour cream. So, today we’re going to clear it up.   Traditionally, a fajita is actually referring to the filling itself as it means “little sash” in Spanish. Typically, a fajita is made from carne asada, which is also known as skirt steak. This tougher cut of meat is marinated, sliced against the grain, and grilled. Then, it’s accompanied with a variety of grilled vegetables and topped with guacamole and other delights.   So, while we’re here, let’s go over why fajitas differ from tacos. Tacos are usually much more versatile. Tacos are made from various types of meat, and the toppings will be kept raw. For example, shredded lettuce and tomatoes are popular choices!
